Now, how can i make my Cat in yo yo game to move!! HELP?

Alright, my charecter (the cat) can move, but only downwards. I have the sprite to if it was to turn it would go left, right, and up but when i try that it wont work!! I can't seem to get it right and when i try something new and logic it won't work. Also this is my first time using Yo Yo games too!!!!!
