Sippy Cup Nightmare! What To Do?

I had the same problem with my daughter. She wouldn't drink out of a sippy cup until she was almost 2.Both my boys were bottle broke at 11 months. Every child is different. I know doctors say they need to be off the bottle by age one but my daughter just wouldn't budge. I went ahead and allowed her to have her bottle until age two when she had a better understanding and I could reason with her. Nows she's 4 1/2 and I can't get her off her sippy cup.::big eye roll:: She just started preschool last week so I'm hoping by her not having her sippy cup during the day she will transition into a regular cup. If he's dead set on not drinking out of a sippy cup and your worried about dehydration you could always give him his bottle back during the day but only fill it with water. Leave the sippy cup out with his favortie drink in it and see if that might pursude him to drink from it.That way he can choose. I know it seems like a step back but some kids just aren't ready to give up the bottle. If your dead set on moving forward with the sippy cup transition I would suggest you not give him a bottle at night. This is sending mixed messages. I'm sure a lot of people won't agree with me but I don't see anything wrong with a child having a bottle past one year. My daughter kept hers until she was two and we've had no issues with her. I think it was more of a security thing. Like now with her sippy cup. She can and will sometimes drink out of a regular cup but she prefers her sippy. Good luck!

Need some advice brother is going down hill since his divorce....?

My little brother and his wife divorced because he walked in on her and his best friend well he has a two year old son with this lady and they have a visitation schedule if you would call it that and he pays child support and loves his son so much. But he is struggling and he is depressed and when he isn't working or with his son he just crashes and isolates himself away and drinks to the point that he has ended up in the hospital. I am so worried about him he is only 24 and i don't want to have to bury my little brother! And on top of it all his ex has started giving him chit when he goes to pick his son up and has recently started trying to deny him visitation just to be spiteful and its just sending my brother on a downward spiral. well, my mom bought the house we live in 30 years ago, and so did our across the street neighbor, they had been friends and my sister and her daughter grew up together, well my sister is left and her daughter lives by here, anyway. her daughter has a 4 year old daughter and when she had her i just adored her because she was such a cute baby, but, now, she is rather bratty and i still have to go see her when she visits, now she visits for like two weeks at a time and i have to practically babysit her for free untill about 11 at night! its allot of stress on me because she never sits down. now the reall problem is that i have to see her everyday when she is here and i really would rather not, is there anyway i can do this without being rude or upseting people, she is practically glued to my hip, and her grandmother expects me to fawn all over her since i did when she was a little baby. i cant get the grandma mad at me because then my mom will be mad at me and all hell will have broken loose. what do you think i should do? thanks.

Loud screeching noise from outside a/c unit?

16 month old won't drink anything? what to do?

I'm trying to wean my 16 month old off of the bottle. I have tried pretty much every type of sippy cup there is. From ones with nipples to ones with straws and ones with spouts. There are two problems. She has no idea how to tip a sippy cup or her bottle for that matter. The other problem is that I have finally found a sippy cup that she can use because she doesn't have to tip it at all because it's the kind with a straw that goes all the way to the bottom of the sippy cup. She was using it fine with just water in it yesterday. This morning I have replaced one of her bottles and put the milk in the sippy cup. She drank the milk fine, but she refuses to drink water out of it now. I have no Idea what to do because she won't let me feed her water from the bottle and she won't use this sippy cup now, this is the ONLY sippy cup she is able to use. This problem has been going on for weeks no with me trying to get her to use a sippy cup that she has become dehydrated and it's caused her to become constipated. I have had to take her to the doctor to get a laxative for her because she went 9 days without going poop. This is now again the 7th day without her going poop. I have been giving her the laxative everyday, but because of her not getting any fluids except for milk, the medication isn't working. I'm at a loss for what to do. Any help?

My eyelashes are quite long, and although it's nice to have them long, I can't do anything with them. I can't put mascara on because they become too heavy, and they already have a curl... Need help with my wife...not attracted to her, or her attitude.?

I've been with my wife for 7 years ( my second marriage, her first ) and married for almost 4 years. We have a wonderful 2 year old boy who I would do anything for. After my wife got pregnant our relationship started tanking. She was always spirited and speaks her mind which I love, but it started turning into a bash fest on me. Boys often eat a ton because we are building muscle which takes energy (which is given off by the burning of calories) eat as much as you want (as long as its HEALTHY chocolate and chips and I'm afraid to say McDonalds won't cut it) but doing it isn't all really hard core you CAN indulge one or twice every couple of weeks as long as you don't let it become 2 or 3 times a week. How to get my 2 year old to drink milk?

Since he was weaned from a bottle at nap and bedtime, my toddler refuses to drink milk. Period. And he used to loooove the bottle. Here is what I've tried so far...putting milk in a sippy cup, a regular "big boy" cup, telling him all his favorite people drink milk (daddy, cousin, Woddy from Toy Story, etc), buying a special cup with a crazy straw, getting a transitional sippy cup with a soft spout, and only giving him the option of drinking milk at mealtimes. He wants absolutely nothing to do with them and I've been completely unsuccessful so far. I'm just concerned he isn't getting enough calcium. He is the typical picky toddler, he'll love yogurt and cheese one week, but hate it the next, so I can't always rely on that for his calcium intake. He also doesn't drink juice, never has, just water. I'm not opposed to juice, he just won't take it. So, calcium enriched orange juice is also out. Anyone have any tips?

So this girl and i have become close this year and we're almost always flirty. Cichlid Is Sick! Please Help!?

I haven't fed my fish any minnows in a long time until the other day. Since cichlids are aggressive fish I will occasionally put a few in so they can chase them around, keep them active etc. My jack dempsey is about 2 years old. The Other 4 are about 6 months old. I also have a pleco in the tank. All my other fish are doing just fine but my jack, the other day after feeding him minnows (the only thing that has been changed in the tank at the time) started swimming off balance first with his head more downward then kind of on his side. My bf said "oh its normal for cichlids to swim funny when they are playing." I still felt odd about this. His color darkened to almost black. We did about a 30% water change. I woke up to find that he's laying on his side. I think he's dying. I called petco and they said they don't believe anything could have been passed on from the minnows but don't know what else could have caused this. If anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong, please help me. I already have salt in the tank. I add that anytime I do a water change and I've tested my water everything seems to be fine except my jack dempsey!

He gets sippy cups for his meals and when he's thirsty. My husband isn't quite so convinced that our son needs to be weaned right away. Hey don't worry about it. My son drinks a little from sippy cups (he's nearly 12 months) but he really likes to drink from "adult" cups (with mommy's help), and that's totally fine with me. I'm going to wean him from bottle to regular cup when he's ready. He's just not into sippy cups and i don't think they are necessary, just helpful for alot of babies.

It’s so bad that if I’m in the kitchen and she comes in, I have to hurry and hide whatever I am fixing so she doesn’t say anything to me. At one point I was so depressed I completely STOPPED eating for like a week and on the 5th day she came to me and was like “you look good. Whatever your doing is working.” I told her I wasn’t eating and she was like “keep it up”. Every day she asks me the same question. Are you working out? She explains to me that I need to look good because I’m still single and no guy wants a girl like me. She tells me guys want skinny girls. I tell her that these things hurt my feelings but she doesn’t listen nor care. Because a couple of days later she is back to doing and saying things. This has sadly changed our relationship over the years. Lately it’s been bad and my boyfriend wants me to say something or he will. I tell him you can’t change a person and told him I was moving out. Okay, so right now I'm feeling a little insecure about my looks...shocker. Is my surface hip piercing infected?

I can't tell if my hip piercing is infected or healing. I've been putting the right amount of sea salt on my piercing s and its been about a week since I got them. My hip hurts, what should I do?

This has been an ongoing problem for me for like.. 2 years. My right hip feels really uncomfortable and there is a dull, achy pain that is VERY annoying. It's there all the time and makes it very difficult for me to feel good at all most of the time.the pain is originating mostly from the joint.. I've tried hot baths, ice, NSAIDS including 800mg ibuprofen every 6-8 hours or 2-500mg naproxen every 10 hours. I really don't feel much difference after I take the NSAIDS, but have seen a huge improvement when I've taken vicodin. Some further info is I am 22, havent had an injury on my hip that I know of, and am a little overweight. At night usually the most comfortable I CAN get is to put a pillow between my legs. Please let me know what to do.

DESPERATE - Sudden onset of very painful joints and other symptoms!?

I began taking Macrobid for a bladder infection last Thursday and later Friday evening my skin began to hurt all over and I got the chills, along with fever. I was up almost all night with severe pain in my knees, feet, and eventually my hips. I have had headaches and some nausea, but no vomiting. As of today it has been a week; the fever did seem to go away yesterday after taking extra strength tylenol around the clock. Why does water pour out of the bottom spout on my RV's water heater?

I just bought my first RV (1978 with an American Appliance Mfg propane water heater model 6 ARV) and whenever the water system is pressurized (by the 12v pump or when hooked up to city water) the water flows right through the hot water tank and out of the spout at the bottom of the heater (it looks like a garden hose will connect to it and inside has about 1/4" hole). The only way I can stop it so I can use the water in the trailer is to turn the water off completely for the water heater. Should this spout simply have a plug screwed on to stop the water from flowing out or could there be something else going on? My RV dealer told me that was a spout for the anode rod but the Anode rod is actually at the back of the tank with access from inside the trailer, not outside behind the water heater door. The spout in question is located near the bottom of the unit, on the wall behind the gas/air tube. Anyone know anything about these heaters that might know?

Best sippy cup for little guy who won't take any?!?

So my little guy is a little over 11 months old, and I've been trying since he was about 5 months (just slowly introducing water in sippy) and no avail. It probably don't help that he hates any flavor of juice even if it is diluted, and hates water. I've tried a few brands, plus the take and toss ones my toddler uses that has no valves and figured if the liquid in the sippy just trickled in his mouth he'd get the idea...yeah right!! he just chews on the spout! Im 19 years old and 36w+ 5d pregnant with first baby. The past few days ive noticed its painful to go pee and little pee comes out its like something is blocking it. My 8-month-old daughter has been and is still breastfed, but I've been trying to get her to take a sippy cup for water and occasional sips of juice. But she simply will not take it! What should i know about cheerleading?

I tried other sports, but honestly, i can't throw or catch balls or run for miles. I was thinking about cheer leading, but i have no experience in gymnastics. Hamster Questions 10 points.?

Ok so I am going to be getting a male Winter White Hamster. I have had a hamster in the past and I got rid of him because he stunk. I think he was a robo or a russian dwarf. Any way, to get rid of the odor since I want to keep him in my bedroom, I will be putting baking soda on the cage floor, and then a layer of carefresh bedding. I will be putting 5 drops of vanilla extract in his water to help his urine to not smell so strongly of ammonia. I will be doing daily spout cleaning and once a week full cage clean. This mean everything is taken out cleaned in hot soapy water and he gets fresh baking soda and bedding. I am wondering if this will be enough to keep the odor down very low. I can't have him stinking up my room. And he will get a dust bath every other day to every three days. Will this be enough? I will be keeping him in a plastic bin ot see if he stinks if he does i am getting rid of him if e doesn't he get a nice hamster cage.

If I wear a corsette, will I get that "hourglass" shape?

I am athletic but more lean muscle, but the thing that bothers me is that I have an undefined waist. So basically, no matter how "slim" I am, my waist will be about the same width as my hips. Anyhow, if i wear a corsette, over time will my waist gradually get defined and be shaped into an hourglass? How do I get my daughter off of bottle?

I'm trying to wean my 16 month old off of the bottle. I have tried pretty much every type of sippy cup there is. From ones with nipples to ones with straws and ones with spouts. There are two problems. She has no idea how to tip a sippy cup or her bottle for that matter. The other problem is that I have finally found a sippy cup that she can use because she doesn't have to tip it at all because it's the kind with a straw that goes all the way to the bottom of the sippy cup. She was using it fine with just water in it yesterday. This morning I have replaced one of her bottles and put the milk in the sippy cup. She drank the milk fine, but she refuses to drink water out of it now. I have no Idea what to do because she won't let me feed her water from the bottle and she won't use this sippy cup now, this is the ONLY sippy cup she is able to use. This problem has been going on for weeks no with me trying to get her to use a sippy cup that she has become dehydrated and it's caused her to become constipated. I have had to take her to the doctor to get a laxative for her because she went 9 days without going poop. This is now again the 7th day without her going poop. I have been giving her the laxative everyday, but because of her not getting any fluids except for milk, the medication isn't working. I'm at a loss for what to do. Any help?

Next, a few swear words are okay, but in my opinion there are far too many in this. Don't go over the top, otherwise the swear words lose all meaning; they don't display any emotion. I tend to believe channels like Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, and the like are destroying any sense of civil, intelligent political discourse in this country. I mean I believe it's important that the American people have easy access to up to date information but I wonder if cable news is worth the trouble it wreaks. News these days is just generally irresponsible. My complaint isn't that the news is too biased. In fact, in most cases I would argue that it isn't biased enough. Or at least in the sense that journalists don't discriminate anymore. The job of a journalist is not simply to deliver information to people. It's about discerning what is and isn't important for people to know. Today cable news channels assume they have to represent every idea no matter how discredited out of some misguided need to be perceived as "Fair and Balanced". Journalism can be fair with out giving credence to all views. They care far too much what we think and not nearly enough what qualified experts think. Cichlid Is Sick! Please Help!?

I haven't fed my fish any minnows in a long time until the other day. Since cichlids are aggressive fish I will occasionally put a few in so they can chase them around, keep them active etc. My jack dempsey is about 2 years old. The Other 4 are about 6 months old. I also have a pleco in the tank. All my other fish are doing just fine but my jack, the other day after feeding him minnows (the only thing that has been changed in the tank at the time) started swimming off balance first with his head more downward then kind of on his side. My bf said "oh its normal for cichlids to swim funny when they are playing." I still felt odd about this. His color darkened to almost black. We did about a 30% water change. I woke up to find that he's laying on his side. I think he's dying. I called petco and they said they don't believe anything could have been passed on from the minnows but don't know what else could have caused this. If anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong, please help me. I already have salt in the tank. I add that anytime I do a water change and I've tested my water everything seems to be fine except my jack dempsey!

I have long eyelashes, and I can't use mascara or they become too heavy. And using a curler has no use because they already have a curl... The weaker eyelashes also bend downwards and poke me in the eyes. Also, my eyelashes sometimes get tangled together. I want to do something new with them, and get rid of the irritation... What are the signs i could be about to go into labour, even if its not today.?

Im three weeks away from my due date, so its probably nothing. But i just thought i would try find out a bit more as this is my first pregnancy and i don't really know what to expect. For the past few days i've been waking a lot in the night been overly hot, or having very strange dreams, and waking up hours before i normally do. Ive been feeling really tired and have been sleeping for around four hours in the day (could be due to restless nights). ive also been getting increased discharge. I have been getting a lot of aching in my lower back lower belly too. For the past couple hours i have been getting some pains in my stomach, in line with my hips.. its like a dull ache which is coming and going every few minutes, and for the past half an hour it has gotten more pain full. 8 Months ago, i had an avulsion fracture in my pelvis and hips, my doctor told me that i shouldnt movie my leg for 6 weeks, after 6 weeks my leg still hurt so he gave me another 6 weeks without pressure on the leg, and my muscles just keep hurting more and more as time passes and even my leg starts going numb sometimes, so i decided to go to another doctor who said that the problem is due to prolonged immobility which has made the muscles in my upper leg and thigh extremely week which causes the pain, can anyone tell me any good workouts in order to get my muscle strength back, the doctor suggest muscle strengthening and says that i should stretch the muscles because they became stiff after 8 months of immobility. Can anyone give me any workouts, routines, stretching techniques in order for me to get my leg back in action?

Wow a friend of mine have the same thing as you are in a way. So don't be scared your not alone. In fact I help him overcome his problem but still he needed to see counselor once in 3 months until a year, he was doing fine no counselor at all. 2 years now he is doing fine. This is what I advise him to do. Which he followed. I was able to help him out by another easy way called exercising and diet. He used to take herbs and medication for the problem. I'm experiencing extreme pain during sex, like burning or ripping. I can't fully describe it. Its been going on for maybe 2 weeks now and I don't use condoms me and my boyfriend have been tested.
